Quantum Mechanics II - Phys 431

                          Course Information,  Spring 2006
 

 CONTENT  This is the second semester of a two-semester course on quantum
mechanics. It will cover:

We will spend about two weeks on each topic.
 

PREREQUISITES:      Phys 430 or equivalent (first semester quantum mechanics).
 

TEXT:    The textbook is my lecture notes.  Most of you should already have a copy
from Phys 430;  I will arrange to have additional copies printed up if they are needed.
 

COURSE ORGANIZATION:

Lectures:       Tu and Th     15:35-16:50  in  TH434.

Homework:    There will be seven homework assignments to be handed in during the
semester. Although these assignments don't count heavily in the grading, it is essential
that you do them. Solutions will be posted, periodically, on this website.

Exams:            There will be two take-home exams: a midterm and a final.

Midterm  40%
Final 50%
